Realistic graffiti

I found the website of the artist who created this work, but no information on the work itself. Apparently Maclaim travels to cities across Europe to paint what he calls the "finest photorealistic graffiti". I'm not sure I agree with the "finest" part, but I've certainly seen worse things on some of the walls of Berlin. What do you think of this work - fine or not so fine?

Monday's here again! Hope you had a great and relaxing weekend. For more murals, visit Monday Mural.

  1. He does have some talent and it is much better than the usual graffiti I see!

  2. This does nothing for me, but ... Why do we need this stuff on walls all over town anyway? Maybe it's better than ads for toilet paper? Play any golf this weekend? I played this morning. Made par on the first three holes and then my golf clubs reset themselves and I went back to the usual! :)

  3. It is very bold in both form and color.

  4. Clicking on the photo to bring up the original size is the best way to view the mural. I have come to the conclusion that you are a darn good photographer.

  5. While I wouldn't call it fine, it definitely has its own appeal! Great capture!

  6. It's not quite my taste, but it doesn't annoy me like tagging does.

  9. Well you are as very often not so much investigating about your shots. The artist is not "Ma' Claim" . This is the name of the graffiti artist group founded by Tasso. And this mural in Torstrasse is a team work of the group composed by Tasso, Akut,Rusk and Case, very talented and famous street painters. There are no waterdrops in the nets but diamonds !

    1. Hahahaha... I didn't even think about the nudity! I guess I'm getting really used to the FKK mentality here. :)

  11. The outlines are a bit to dark to be photorealistic, but he's still pretty good. I'm not crazy about it, unfortunately.

  12. I think it is a very intriguing image, it bit to much "men" in my opinion.....

  14. «Louis» takes a dim view of graffiti - period... He'll stop right there because he could easily go on a rant about it...

    1. There are no diamond merchants in the area... that I have seen anyway.

  18. My main reaction is that the composition is too small for the wall it's on. Still, it's fun to look at. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

    1. There are alot of exposed walls like this one around Berlin. After the war, not everything got built up again so it's nice to see some of those spaces "decorated" although this is not my favorite mural. :)

  19. How interesting it's considered "graffiti." The artist seems too have much more talent than that.

  20. A big diamond in the net? How fortunate!

  21. It looks a bit like some of the statues at VIGELANDSPARKEN in Oslo.
Not sure if I like it. We have nuart.no here, so I guess I am a bit critical about street art these days.
I can see that there are lots of work gone in to this and perhaps you will show us more later?
