Ornate sign

Fehrbelliner Platz is another stop on the U-Bahn line 3. I really liked this old-timey sign, especially the storks that grace each side. I'm sure these symbols have some meaning, but I couldn't find any information about them. Hope you enjoy anyway! For more signs, take a look at Signs, Signs.

  1. The tiles, the colors - all very beautiful. I like the sign, too. Storks bring babies. Didn't you know that?

  7. Very nice sign. The stork takes a place in a lot of German coat of arms. If it have to do something with the battle between Sweden and Frederik William in 1675 I don't know but it is nice to look further into it.

  11. Oh that's nice! I'm glad I clicked to enlarge it. Can't imagine the patience needed to place all those tiny white tiles behind the station/stop name. I like the horse and wagon below, it too.

  15. That is a lovely sign, especially with the storks. I think storks are a symbol of good luck, but then S.C. might be right.
