Piece of a man

I have been doing some research and this is the second mural I've shown you from artist JR. It is part of his series The Wrinkles of the City. The other work I showed is also a large scale, black and white work on the side of a building. This mural actually used to show an entire man's face, I'm not sure what happened to the rest of him... a mystery for us to ponder this Monday! 2. Perhaps it's a weathering effect?

  3. I guess it was a paste-up that has started to unpaste! Still looks interesting though.

  4. But I like it this way. It looks like the face is underneath the facade, being gradually revealed as the surface peels back.

  6. I'm with RedPat on this. Looks as if portions are peeling off.

  9. Yes a nice one. Berlin is full of wonderful murals. You have only to look around.

  10. Eigenartig, dass es teilweise verschwunden ist. Es wirkt nämlich, als sei das Gegenteil der Fall, als würde das Gesicht erst freigelegt! Sehr eindrucksvoll!

  12. I'm a big fan of JR's work. I actually met him on the première of his amazing movie "Women Are Heroes" in Lisbon. And, because of him, as you might know, I was involved in two INSIDE OUT projects in my city. :-)

  13. What a fascinating post Hal, would love it if we could have one of his works here in Perth.. Loved the other mural you posted. Wonder what's gone on here, I thought this was how it was supposed tp be, like a tear in the wall sort of thing.
