August theme day: Take-away

Here's a look at a unique take-away hut where you can pick up your take-away wine and then either drink it at one of the many picnic tables or walk a little further to the beautiful flower-lined plaza and enjoy it there. Either way, you're bound to have a fabulous time at the summer Wine Festival. I got this shot before opening one day, I'll have to get back another evening to show you things in full swing.

It's the first of the month again and August's theme is take-away shops. I hope you have enjoyed my contribution, you can see more take-away shops here.

  1. I can just imagine a herd of Germans (and tourists) in lederhosen and dirndls waving beer steins around and singing at the top of their lungs!

    1. The whole of Germany is not Bavaria, Jack. :)
No one would dare to wear a dirndl in Berlin.

    1. It's also not so common here either. Most of the time it's take away beer and sausage.

  3. Wouldn't it be nice to do that there in Toronto! The LCBO would go crazy as you know.

    1. Some people bring their own wine (which I don't think is very nice). You know the police in Toronto would shut any kind of public drinking down right away!

  5. As William said, and he, like I, lives in Canada, take away wine is something that we don't see here! I love the colour of the tables.

  9. Have they also something to eat with it or have you bring that yourself. Looks like a nice place to taste some wine.

    1. They do not have a license to sell food. But there is a take-away pizza shop around the corner and several bakeries on the plaza. You are also allowed to bring your own picnic. A lot of people really go all out and bring a tablecloth and a full dinner.

  20. Oh, what a great setting for take-away, but with the ample seating I would be inclined to sit right there!
