German folk

An early morning view of the Reichstag, before the lawn and stairs are covered with tourists. I like it in black and white, I hope you do too. For more signs, visit Signs, Signs.

  2. Those words are cast in melted French cannons from the Napoleonic wars! I was just reading about this great building!

    "When one feels very angry
    I force myself to talk
    regardless of my feelings.
And every time I do this
    I am surprised
    at how many other views
    you can have
on a matter which I find
    totally clear.
    Then I have to
    deal with those views,
    and this can also
    trigger something new. "

    2. Especially when this Honolulu girl speaks about "Angel" Merkel !!! Very funny. Well Merkel doesn't really care about other point of views.

  4. I must say that the B&W place the building more in the past. A not so happy period of time.

  6. I do like it very much Hal, it's an impressive building anyway, even more so in b&w. You have to get up and about to beat the crowds :)

  14. It looks rather imposing, and almost haunting, in B&W!

  15. A most fitting building for a seat of government, perfect in b&w. Like seeing all the heraldry on the walls on either side of the doors. That might suggest a royalist form of government, but that is not what Germany has.

  16. An impressive, grand building that almost looks like a temple.

  17. I think I prefer it in colours, saw the yellow builing last year against the bright blue sky, fabulous.

  20. The angle of your shot gives it drama and scale; the black and white reinforces it. Good job!

  21. I think B&W is very appropriate for this building.

  22. So great in b/w. I remember the days when the Reichstag was still empty and Rock Concerts were being held with the speakers turned to the East towards the wall which was located just behind.

  23. The B&W takes me right back to WWII...I remember the scenes as the Russians made their way through Berlin.

I do like that first shot a lot!
