a photo a day from germany's capital city
These days with contemporary art it can be hard to tell the difference!
Oh, boy! Here we go. I'm going to stick my neck out, though, and still say I think somebody forgot about it and left it there. :-)
I don't know about the broom, but whomever (whoever?) rode in on it is long gone. What really gets to me is the graffiti! In a bunker no less! Sheesh!
I agree with William, it is difficult to tell the difference with contemporary art. Nice capture, Hal.
It looks pretty contemporary to me or should I merely evaluate it as an utilitarian object?
I've got it! It is a broom. What do I win?
It's a negotiation between whoever put it there and the viewer. Remember Duchamp"s urinal and Dali's lobster phone?
Golly, if it's art you've posted another no no photo. Doesn't that make it sound much more exciting?
Fun that you have giving us something to consider. I vote for broom being left there :).
Sometimes the line between art and reality is indeed wafer-thin but in this case I must say thats it is a broom without artsy intentions although the broomstick ..........
@all - My husband and I both agreed that it's just a broom. It was in one of the stairwells and the tour guide didn't complain when I took a picture of it. However, it has been fun reading the discussion here!
This is nice. Not just as ART but I love you find this and took a photo. You have a good eye !
Thanks for visiting my blog. I love hearing from you!
