Cherry benches year three

The cherries on the square have not been nearly as beautiful as last year or the year before. But I suppose that's a byproduct of an unseasonably warm winter - these trees were almost in full bloom back in January! It's shame though, they can be really beautiful.

  1. That's a nice shot, Hal. Well-composed and the colors are great and the light is super and the light makes it.

  3. They blessed in January, and may be forgiven for bowing out of the general Spring pageant, I think :)

    1. They are decorative only. My MiL does have a fruit bearing cherry in her garden though. Usually we get a pretty good harvest.

  7. Yes, I just came in from a walk that took me past a couple of cherry trees that bloomed too early and got caught in the freeze.

  8. Last year was especially beautiful. The trees do have a graceful form even if you've had to forego cherry snow.

  12. I like the light and peacefulness in this image, and I clicked on the link to what it looked like before... also very pretty. I am waiting for signs of spring, and have found a few. That makes me happy! :-) It is getting colder again here up in the north now....

  15. Wow, they were blooming in January? That is crazy. Nature is getting so confused.

  16. Cherries in January, as far north a you are! We're on about the same parallel as Rome and ours came and went in late March and early April.

    1. They don't normally bloom in January. When we came back from Florida, they looked about the same as they look in this picture. So I knew we wouldn't be seeing them in their full beauty this year.
