More eagles

I do love the German eagles, even if they're on weapons of war.

You have to admit, these canons have their own artistic merit.

They certainly don't make them like that anymore! More treasures abound at Tuesday Treasures.

  1. Yes, artistic and historic value! There is nothing wrong with pride in our nations, even as we build towards a world where all are happy regardless of their culture or history. God Bless Germany

  2. I wonder if these details for created in a mold. Even so,what an amazing amount of time must have gone into creating it.

  6. Any old canons I've seen before have been plain and black. It's interesting to see artistry like this in a weapon.

  7. German eagles and American eagles must be from from different species. Someone somewhere must have analyzed the difference.

  13. Even if (as you point out) the objects weren't used for purposes I support, I definitely recognize the fine art and craftsmanship that went into making them.

  15. I am always amazed at the details that went into the making of objects years ago. That attention to details is lacking today. Even a canon, an instrument of war had beautiful details. Thanks for joining Tuesday's Treasures and I hope that you return soon.
