Remembered

This is a memorial to Georg Elser, the lesser-known attempted assassin of Adolf Hitler. A German biopic on Elser came out a few years ago and I recently watched it. I had heard of the man before, but his attempt on Hitler's life has just never been as widely publicized as von Stauffenburg.

This message can be found just steps away from Elser's profile. It reads, "that the conditions in Germany could only be changed by eliminating the current leader." True words... More signs can be found at Signs, Signs.

  2. I oppose assassination in general, but in this particular case I can make an exception. Did not know about Georg Elser. Thank you for adding to my education.

  7. It's a shame that he wasn't successful. Of course conditions in Germany wouldn't have been so bad if the people hadn't elected Hitler.

  9. I like it very much Hal, it's a tragedy that Hitler wasn't assassinated at the beginning!

  11. We didn't know about this. It suggests someone who was just barely there, a wisp, just part of a line. It feels transitory.

  12. Wow, I knew nothing about this history. It is good to know that people tried.

I agree with your comment above about the U.S. election. There are too many chilling parallels.
