Burning bridge

I was looking back through my photos from the Wannsee in Flammen tour a few weekends ago to see if there were any other shots worth showing. It's hard to see here, but this is the famous Glienicke Bridge (where spies were traded between the East and West in the Cold War days) lit up by a cascade of fireworks. It was really quite beautiful, I'm only sorry my photos don't really do it justice. Maybe I'll go back and do the tour again next year, but I'll come better prepared.

Hip hip hooray!

I have an Internet connection in my new home! It will probably still be awhile until I get back to regular blogging though. There's still a lot of work to be done on the new place. It's good to be online though.

Happy New Year!

My husband and I spent our first night in the apartment last night! I think it was a good way to ring in the New Year. We walked the streets around our new home and stopped to look at some of the many fireworks displays going on. These are not professional displays - these are just from regular people. I think we saw more fireworks here than we did last year at the Brandenburg Gate.

Frohes neues Jahr!!!

Here's a look at the fireworks show that took place last night over the Brandenburger Tur. My husband and I braved the crowds and the cold to celebrate at Germany's biggest party. It was really quite fun - we talked to lots of people, ate some yummy food and enjoyed the various shows. I think 2014 is off to a good start - I hope it brings you good health, love and joy!
