Nivea bear

Another bear sighting! This one is in front of the Nivea Haus on Unter den Linden. It's Wednesday and you'll find more signs here.

Lucha libre

This mural looks like a masked lucha libre fighter to me. I haven't heard of the artist, but they must be well-known as the Pilpeled website is filled with other works. It's Monday again and you'll find more murals on Monday Mural.

Summer skies

Looking at the Museum of Transportation from the canals in Kreuzberg. I just love the blue summer skies, you'll find more at Skywatch.

A beautiful display of hollyhocks in Wannsee. I love the simplicity of these flowers, in German they're called farmers roses.

And a look at the hollyhock bicycle, which I featured here back in 2015. This bicycle had been parked in the same place for almost three years... just last week I saw that it was moved to another lamppost about 50 meters away. I wonder if it gets lonely now without its longtime hollyhock companion.

Cool cat

I found this cool cat in Schöneberg, just around the corner from where the long-awaited Museum of Contemporary Urban Art is set to open up this September. It is atop my list of places to visit once the doors open. Until then, you'll find more murals at Monday Mural.

Ten years of photo blogging

It all began ten years ago when I left Paris, France for Jackson, Mississippi. I was unemployed for awhile in Jackson and an old colleague in Paris sent me a link to Eric Tenin's Paris blog. I was quickly hooked and joined the City Daily Photo network with Jackson Daily Photo. Having a blog to fill gave me a reason to get out and about and discover my new home.

When we moved to Toronto four years later, I continued photo blogging on One a Day from Toronto. Once again, taking pictures helped me adjust to life in a new city.

We've been back in Berlin (my husband's hometown) for four years now. I don't post as often now as I know the city quite well, but I still enjoy being part of the CDP network. I cherish all the friendships I've made (both virtual and otherwise) through blogging. Let's see where we go from here!

PS: I'm posting photos from my three-month tour of Southeast Asia on Halcyon Travels. Stop by and take a look.

There is something I really like about this doorway - actually many things! The arches, the details surrounding the door, the small oval window... but especially the built in Latin welcome mat!

Happy Friday! Hope you have a fantastic weekend ahead.

Bikes for hire

I love how these rental bicycles were displayed like a rainbow inside the S-Bahn station at Wannsee. More signs can be found at Signs, Signs.
