A beautiful display of hollyhocks in Wannsee. I love the simplicity of these flowers, in German they're called farmers roses.
And a look at the hollyhock bicycle, which I featured here back in 2015. This bicycle had been parked in the same place for almost three years... just last week I saw that it was moved to another lamppost about 50 meters away. I wonder if it gets lonely now without its longtime hollyhock companion.
Bizar, a parked bicycle for three years, a piece of art maybe?
ReplyDeleteI like the variety in colours. And yes, the bicycle makes you wonder..
ReplyDeleteIch habe nie den Namen farmer roses auf deutsch gehört. Für mich sind das Stockrosen, Malvengewächse. Wie übersetzen Sie farmer roses "Bauernrosen"?
ReplyDeleteLG
Ja, ich nenne die Bauerenrosen. Vielleicht das ist Regional? :)
DeleteSuch a beautiful flower. Very nice.
ReplyDelete...a wonderful part of summer.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful flower garden !
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the story is with that bike.
If you park a working bicycle longer than a day in my area someone will steal it. Nice with all the flowers.
ReplyDeleteBikes are stolen on a regular basis here too. Which is why I can't believe this one had stayed there for almost three years (and with not a very good lock either!). I park my steel horse in the basement.
DeleteThe flowers certainly are pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe bicycle and the flowers make a wonderful pair. The flower garden is gorgeous with all the various colours.
ReplyDeleteI love hollyhocks. I just saw quite a few while I was in California.
ReplyDeleteThose hollyhock shots are charming!
ReplyDeleteVery nice garden.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty !
