Thanks to yesterday's comment from Sara Miller, I found a little more information on this exhibit. It is entitled Sticks and Stones and is indeed from architect/artist David Chipperfield. It's certainly no coincidence that Mr. Chipperfield is also the architect responsible for the upcoming renovation to the building. If you'd like to read more about the exhibit, take a look here.
i like the close-up of the bark - or barkless tree.
ReplyDeleteYes, it seems the exhibition is already being dismantled. There was a trunk under every node of the roof structure.
ReplyDeleteThe museum is now closed for renovations, so it is normal that the exhibition was being dismantled back in December. It will be closed for around 5 years. I don't think they like to give definite time lines here anymore due to all of the airport problems!
DeleteI, like TexWisGirl, really like the close-up of the barkless tree.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is a different kind of installation. I think, too, if one ran into a "tree" he or she would discover quickly how "sticks" could break bones. Maybe? :)
ReplyDeleteVery original. And basic..
ReplyDeleteI like this shot!
ReplyDeleteLove this inside forest!
ReplyDeleteI certainly like the effect of the room and the installation.
ReplyDeleteIncluding the person in this shot gives nice scale.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to find out more about it! Another nice shot.
ReplyDeleteYour post yesterday and today photograph a very diffferent and stark art installation. Unusual.
ReplyDeleteVery, very cool.
ReplyDeleteThey sit very attractively within the building!
ReplyDelete143 trees! What an amazing installation Hal and an incredible experience to walk among. I love the way the artistic mind knows no boundaries!
ReplyDeleteI really like this. I would enjoy walking among the "sticks".
ReplyDeleteThanks for the added information, Hal. It truly is an interesting installation!
