This creche is from the Schloss Charlottenburg Christmas Market. It's one of the biggest and prettiest in Berlin and they always have a nice manger scene. These figures were handmade by a local chainsaw artist. I always wonder how they can get so much detail with a chainsaw.
Enjoy the rest of your Christmas, hopefully surrounded by friends, family and those you love.
This one is beautifully done. Have a Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'd think it would be a tremendous honor to be asked to create these figures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Merry Christmas to you, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteIts funny that you see the german tradition of woodcarving from the Black Forest in these figures. Merry Christmas to you and your family too.
ReplyDeleteGOD JUL / MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful. I've never understood how chainsaw artists can do such magnificent work. Hope you're having a wonderful Christmas celebration!

ReplyDeleteLovely !!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had lovely Christmas.
Slightly belated Merry Christmas, Hal!
ReplyDeleteThat's very nice chainsaw work. I'd guess, also, that other tools were employed to smooth out and add detail to these sculptures.
I've watched those people carving ice sculptures but they have the aid of chisels and blowtorches. How someone can do this on wood with a chainsaw is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteA very lovely scene, its amazing that its sculptured with a chain saw....
ReplyDeleteHope you had a very Merry Christmas, best wishes for 2016!
