This type of brick facade is very typical for buildings found in the old eastern part of Berlin. I rather like the color and design, it's only a shame this one has been attacked by taggers. After searching online, I learned that this building is used as a youth center. You can see some pictures from the inside here.
Königsstadt !!!!! It's a pity that you make such mistakes when writing about the town you wish to introduce to your "blogger community".

What a shame to deface such a beautiful building! Would you believe that Indianapolis, capitol of Indiana, has a new law fining building owners for the defacement on their buildings? That's one of the stupidest laws I've heard of in recent years!
ReplyDeleteIt is an attractive building Halcyon, I particulary like the arched windows. It's surprisingly spacious inside oui, good that it's being so well used.
ReplyDeletep.s. next time you should come with your husband, you would love it I'm sure.
It's a shame about the tagging on such a fine building!
ReplyDeleteIls sont en train de rénover à côté, j'espère que s'ils rénovent aussi ce bâtiment, ils garderont cette belle façade !
ReplyDeleteI have never understood why people do that!
ReplyDeleteI can't stand it when people ruin beautiful buildings like this. I also looked at the inside photos...it is a lovely building.
ReplyDeleteAn impressive building... and it makes you want to slap the taggers.
ReplyDeleteThe graffiti certainly detracts from a fine looking building...
ReplyDeleteThe taggers really did a job on this one. But the building is serving a worthwhile purpose. It looks pretty decent inside.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder, doesn't anyone ever witness this sort of nonsense going on, especially up there on the second level! It's a lovely building, architecturally.

the graffiti is distracting, for sure.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, even with the graffiti.
ReplyDeleteTagging is a world-wide plague. «Louis» doesn't understand the allure it has for those who do it... (sigh)
