These two works are painted on the inside of one of the old, tattered listening stations on Teufelsberg.
Maybe it's the lack of color, but there is something haunting about these images. For more murals, visit Monday Mural.
PS: I'm back in Berlin and hope to get caught up visiting all the blogs soon. Hope you enjoyed the posts while I was away.
They do look quite haunting!
ReplyDeleteIts indeed a bit spooky.
ReplyDeleteI agree, they are a bit spooky, but they match with the name "Teufelsberg".
ReplyDeleteI think haunting is the perfect description for these two. There is a mystery about them.
ReplyDeleteOh yes 'haunting' works here. Are you looking at me? Intimidating too.
ReplyDeleteHaunting is a very apt term for this pair.
ReplyDeletethey are eerie.
ReplyDeletei'm sorry the snows kept you from seeing your grandmother!
Very impressive murals
ReplyDeleteSpooky indeed!
ReplyDeleteIndeed haunting, but what is a listening station? Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteIt was the NSA Field Station in Berlin.
DeleteThe second one reminds me of old frescoes in Breton chapels, destined to frighten (into believing I suppose).
ReplyDeleteLove yesterday's die Welt shot!
Wow, scary indeed!
ReplyDeleteHaunting indeed. I clicked to enlarge the images and that was well worthwhile. I shall have to scroll around to find out what a listening station is.
ReplyDeleteAlmost creepy. :)
ReplyDeleteStrong images, as everyone has said very haunting

They look like charcoal sketches to me. Not so scary as somber. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the murals are haunting. The simplicity of form seems to emphasize that. What is a "listening station?"
ReplyDeletehaunting is a good description ... I found them very appealing but I would not want them on my living room wall (smile)
ReplyDeleteThe name of the area is eerie enough. What's its origin?
ReplyDeleteYep, scary!
ReplyDeleteI have never been in there ...it does look spooky!
ReplyDeleteHaunting is right.
