Last week I made a trip to the Monkey Bar with some colleagues that were visiting from our US offices. It's a very popular cocktail bar here in Berlin, but I thought we wouldn't have trouble getting in before 6.30pm. I was wrong.
We only waited 10 - 15 minutes though. The views at the top over the monkey cages at the Berlin Zoo were worth it and the drinks were also surprisingly good, if expensive. I'm ready to monkey around again anytime! For more signs, take a look at Signs. Signs.
Great view from up there. I like the saying!
ReplyDeleteso that's what rum is
ReplyDeleteFunny saying and I love the view in that photo!
ReplyDeleteI lunched in the restaurant beside it and don't remember prices being high. But the view!!! Superbe!
ReplyDeleteThe cocktails were 12 euros on average. For Berlin, that's expensive.
DeleteWell named. :-)
ReplyDeleteSeems a cool place, yes. Pear City Oahu Hawaii had a longtime Monkey Bar in which the monkeys lived behind a glass wall behind the bar! It is missed by those old-timers who loved it.
ReplyDeleteCool.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun place!
ReplyDeleteWhy limit your self to rum? A fine Burgundy would do as well or better.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a rum drinker, but I like that saying and may adapt it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic view. The bar name makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteWow - what a fabulous view!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a seriously good place to work your way through the cocktail list...
ReplyDeleteThe view is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteIndeed a very nice view from the Berlin Zoo and a nice way to describe rum . Never thought about that connection.
ReplyDeleteI like the title! Monkey bar indeed. I used to work out on the monkey bars at the school I attended in Los Angeles in my younger years! Rum was not served, though! Darn!
ReplyDeleteYou were lucky with the relatively short wait Hal, I can see it was so well worth it though, fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHappy monkeys ;))! (It looks like a great bar!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bar with a unique view. Love their sign in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteOh his is the famous "monkey coffee" ?? :) ... very beautiful pictures you have here !
