You do not see a lot of gated communities here in Berlin. The open gate was rather inviting and I would have liked to see that sculpture in the background. But despite the welcoming gate, I didn't dare to go inside!
It's Friday again. Do you have any big plans for the weekend? If the weather holds, you'll find me on the golf course. Whatever your plans are, don't forget to visit Friday Fences for more gates and such.
wow. quite grand and lovely, too! thanks for this!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty! I'm not sure I would have been able to resist going in though.
ReplyDeleteThere is something intimidating about going in a gate even if it is open. It is a lovely gate.
ReplyDeleteEspecially in Germany! People here can be really mean and they are sticklers for following the rules.
DeleteI agree with Lois; I wold have tried to look innocent and then look around. I think the gate is very lovely and I think you did a good job photographing it.
ReplyDeleteHad there been a bench inside, I would have waled through, sat down and pretended to be waiting for someone while taking in the view.
ReplyDeleteI could live behind a beautiful gate like this one.
That's quite a lovely courtyard. I would have stepped in!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful gate - and interesting that the left and right sides don't match...or, does the paneling of the open gate do that?
ReplyDeleteI hate to be an obnoxious tourist, but I'd find it hard to resist a quick peek at the sculpture.
I had not really noticed the two sides were different until you pointed that out. Maybe the iron worker who created it wanted to show all his skills!
DeleteI really like this, it looks so inviting! Here in Montreal I have seen several gated properties, and one of them had a couple of cement lions and a gorgeous fountain! Wow! Of course, though, the gate was locked! :) I hope you enjoy your time golfing.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very grand looking entrance to a very peaceful looking garden!
ReplyDeleteVery nice construction. I like it.
ReplyDeletebeautiful entry!
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty gate. I like how when the door of the gate is against the side of the gate, the pattern changes...and still looks good.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ornate gate!
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty...and yes, tempting to go inside and view everything a bit closer.
ReplyDeletePretty gate!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have entered either.
ReplyDeleteAlways get a kick outta gates. They keep people in or out. I'm confused.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be nice to have an entry like this. Very elegant.
ReplyDeleteIt is an open gate, after all...
ReplyDeleteStunning gate! I love the iron work. I enjoyed, by the way, seeing the old mining buildings in CO. I think those empty houses were probably for the supervisors and bosses. They were pretty big. I would LOVE to live RIGHT THERE! :-) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt is a fine gate. (I played golf yesterday.)
