This is nice. I don't think there is a principle that old stuff should be photographed in B&W. It depends on the scene and what the photographer wants to communicate.
I love black and white and the fact that it often, especially with photos like yours, makes it harder to date the photograph which I find intriguing. This is a great find! Wren x
