This was one of my "tamer" choices for this month's theme day. I was out and about a few days ago when the skies opened up and it started to pour. Luckily I found a sheltered spot under some arcades and I snapped this shot with my iPhone.
Do you have any big plans for the weekend? It's going to be hot here, but I'll be out on the golf course anyway. I'm also going to a modern dance show on Saturday. Don't forget to stop by Weekend Reflections.
PS: It's back to square one with my job search. I found out yesterday that I didn't get the position. I am really disappointed, but I don't know what I could have done differently. I just hope there's another "dream job" out there, because this one was pretty much everything I wanted.

i'm very sorry on the job!
ReplyDeleteNever ever say your photo is "lame." I've seen a lot of photos by big-name photographers that I thought were "lame" and they're hanging in some museum or gallery. See, I think this is a great street shot - the poor bike is getting all wet and rusting away and you got its reflection before there was nothing left to reflect!
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry about the job. I know how much you wanted that. Let's hope something as exciting or better will come along.
I didn't say it was lame. I said it was tame. :)
DeleteI just meant that it wasn't an "unexpected" idea for the theme day. But thanks for your compliments! Especially nice coming from such a talented guy like you Lowell.
Quite damp!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the job search.
Just came back in from a 20-mile bike ride. Does that count? Weather permitting, I'll be out either hiking or biking on the Fourth.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful street imagery. Watery city reflections are always special. Good luck with your job search. This si by no means at all a lame image. Take it from a photographer. It's a fantastic capture.
ReplyDeleteI love this shot, Hal!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the job but things always seem to work out so I'm sure something else will come along that you will like even better!
Bummer! It's definitely their loss!! (Do be heartened that you got so far in the process. You were clearly a strong candidate.)
ReplyDeleteI really like the mood of this shot.
My dear friend, I am so sorry about the job situation. You cannot do any better than your best! Keep your chin up and keep going! I know of some people that don't even get to the interview stage, so the fact that you are getting interviews is a good sign. I love this rain photo!!! :)
ReplyDeleteNicely shown.

ReplyDeleteAND, send them an exceptionally dignified and positive note of thanks for the time they spent interviewing you and tell them how highly you think of them. I have seen candidates who were not selected the first time being remembered and chosen for the next position, sometimes even a better position.
ReplyDeletegreat shot - good luck with the job search
