Der Platz

A few Sundays ago I made the trek to the Lidl at Inssbrucker Platz, only to find it closed. That particular Lidl was famous for being one of the few supermarkets that was allowed to open on Sundays. I don't know why it's not open anymore, but I ended up going to a store at Sudkreuz train station where I had to wait 10 minutes outside because the store was overcrowded. On the positive side of things, I did get a nice shot of the S-Bahn sign and the crest. I'm linking up with Signs, Signs.

PS: There's more of beautiful Colmar on Halcyon Travels.

  1. It's the store to the right that catches my eye.

  2. I agree with William. The store on the right looks very interesting.
It's hard to imagine not having supermarkets open on Sunday. Though we have a lot of stores that close on Sundays people are so accustomed to being able to shop for food on any day. It's a real convenience.

    1. This is not actually the grocery store, but an S-Bahn station. The store is inside. :)

  9. That business of not opening on Sunday is hard to fathom these days. I think that's the way it was here when I was a youth, but my god, that was ages ago! Many many moons in the past! A long time ago. Well, you get the point.

  10. I remember Blue Laws in Canada when I was young, stores were not open on Sunday. Now in the US many stores never close.

  11. Love the sculptured feature on the facade of the building. In Australia, almost nothing is closed on Sunday. Some restaurants are closed on a Monday, however... but only outside main city areas.

  12. We were talking the other day about how nearly every store was closed on Sunday back when we were kids ( a long time ago ).
