a photo a day from germany's capital city
wonderful old gravemarkers.
Lovely. I love graveyards.
The decorative ends to those crosses add a lot of interest, don't they, Halcyon.
I like the leaves/petals at the tips of the crosses.
They're looking quite sturdy!
I like to walk through cemeteries, too. Like the other commenters, I like the cross endwork.
Looks so peaceful!
Simple crosses, but not rubbish...
Very nice setting with beautiful grave markers.
Love wandering round those places. How old is this one?
The information from the sign says it was founded in 1706. So more than 300 years old.
All cemetaries have their own character don't they?
Very stately looking.
Graveyards can be such a peaceful area...and the markers you shared are wonderful!!!
These markers are really beautiful. I enjoy walking through graveyards looking at all the names adn dates, but I always feel sad when I find an old grave with a small child or infant. Thanks for linking up!
I once found a grave with my own name on it! That was sort of creepy.
i like these...how funny, i featured a grave today too!
I think it is wonderful that so many of us love the beauty that can be found in cemeteries old and new...
We just don't see anything quite like these, these days. I like them a lot.
You composed this photo so well. And it's easy to see why you would enjoy walking amongst the graves in the warmth of the sunshine. I heard of another woman who passed this way. She had a different take on the place. "All these tombstones will be the death of me," she said gravely." :)
Very striking, good to know the fallen soldiers are honoured here.Wren
Beautifully composed shot Hal..
These are interesting crosses. I haven't been wandering through many cemeteries lately, though I'd like to get back to it. It was always enjoyable.
There's something very peaceful about graveyards - I never find them spooky just restful.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I love hearing from you!
