Ludwigskirche was completed in 1897 and is one of the few remaining Catholic churches in Berlin - most were converted to Lutheran parishes after the Protestant Reformation. I liked the way the light was shining on this particular afternoon. The facade almost seems like it's glowing! You can see more old stuff at Rubbish Tuesday.

Fantastic light, Hal. I guess most Roman Catholics live in southern Germany, right? This architecture is similar to churches built here in the latter 19th and early 20th century.
ReplyDeleteYes Lowell, the Southern states tend to be more Catholic and the Northern lean more protestant. Although people in general here are not religious. Some may believe, but they don't go to church every Sunday.
DeleteIt stands out beautifully!
