An Italian in Berlin

The Carlos Giuliano Park is not far from the Mauer Garden which I showed you earlier this week. I did a little research and found that Carlos Giuliani was an Italian man who was shot and killed during G8 protests in Genoa, Italy in 2001. I'm not sure why there is a park named after him in Berlin, but there it it! You'll find more information on Giuliani here. And you can get your weekly sign fix at Signs, Signs.

    1. I was just thinking there was a correlation between the police brutality here and in Ferguson. I am sure this protestor was un-armed as guns are hard to come by here in Europe.

    1. I put in that link to the park's website. I couldn't find any ties to Berlin in their information. A mystery...

  5. I'm with Jack Hal, there must be a connection of some kind to validate the memorial.

  6. I never know what interesting things are going to turn up on the blogs I visit. Why in the world would he have a memorial in Berlin? Maybe he was a counterspy? Well, it could be true!

  13. This is curious. Perhaps he had some good friends in Berlin. I wouldn't otherwise expect to see a memorial so far away...
