I actually took this picture a few weeks ago when the tulips were at their peak. They're on the way out now, although you still see a few here and there. Günter's wife or partner happened to be at the grave when I walked by. I asked her if Günter was a fan of tulips. She said not really, but that she is and she especially likes the color. I told her that I love tulips too and her "gardening" work here looks excellent. She didn't even seem to mind that I took a photo (some Germans are uptight about that).
It's Friday again! Do you have any big plans for the weekend? I am going to play some golf and cards. But first, I've got to get the house clean today. Happy weekend!
Pow! Zap! Bam! COLOR!!!

A real tulip field on its own.
ReplyDeleteExplosion, I say! Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteA burst of beauty and colour!
ReplyDeleteGood that you asked. Perhaps, though, she was pleased you enjoyed her flowers.
ReplyDeleteI think she was. :)
DeleteShe did a very good work, and you too..
ReplyDeleteCelebrating Mothers' Day here. This just reminded me: Flowers!
ReplyDeletewhat a cheery place she has created at a normally somber place. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are such beautiful flowers, after all!
ReplyDeleteThe colours are lovely, I agree. I'm curious as to why some Germans don't like photos being taken of a grave site. Hmmm. Something to ponder.
ReplyDeleteWell very simple , this is a private grave and it's not convenient to put Mr. Günter Wirth's grave stone on a blog. Flowers can be found all over Berlin.
DeleteThis is great, I love it how the colours are mixed.
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice tribute to him!
ReplyDeleteLovely, so full of "life" if I may say so.
ReplyDeleteLovely, nice story, have a good weekend, I'll be photo walking in London again..
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful tribute even if Gunter wasn't a great flower lover.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty and cheerful this looks! I'm celebrating Mother's Day this weekend with my family.
ReplyDeleteAbout taking pictures of family graves? I have learned something new about German culture.
ReplyDeleteSunday is Mother's Day in the US. Something will happen around here.
Very vibrant!
ReplyDeleteThis looks soooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteI guess it looks more personal and colourful than what I have seen around here.
I am sitting at the kitchen table, writing this, listening to jazz on the radio and drinking coffee. My dog ( Black Labrador Retriever) and I have been out on an hours walk. I will start doing things in the garden and hopefully relax, that is what I need this weekend! Books, wine and films.... and Sunday walk including lunch, with a few friends. HAPPY WEEKEND to you and yours.
The tulips are .. Or were ... Wonderful. And Gunters wife has the right idea. Life .. and flowers ... are for the living. Weekend plans sound good, excep for the cleaning part...but always nice when it's done.
