It's that time of the year again... I love making the round of all the Christmas markets in Berlin. My first real visit was to Schloss Charlottenburg. It's one of the bigger, more commercial markets, but still one of my favorites. Drinking Gluhwein from a real mug is so much nicer than from paper or plastic. You can even keep the mug for just three euros. For more signs, take a look at Signs, Signs.
nice mugs and steamy substance in it!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you there--mugs are much to be preferred.
ReplyDeleteI love these! I have a collection of three from my visits to the Christkindlmarket in Chicago. One of these days I hope to make it to one in Germany!
ReplyDeleteI love mugs, and these are beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteI'll take a real mug any day!
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely in the holiday spirit!!
ReplyDeleteThey look like a keepsake to me!
ReplyDeleteI certainly do like them!
ReplyDeleteOK what is Gluhwein. Nice mug but I seem to have loads at home so it would clutter the cuboard up
ReplyDeleteGluhwein literally means glow wine. It's a warm drink popular at the Christmas markets and is basically mulled wine, usually with an extra shot of rum or liquor to keep you warm.
DeleteWell worth keeping at that price too, very warming!
ReplyDeleteNice one and I remember the taste from different christmas markets in germany in the past. Always better then at home or in a warmed place.
ReplyDeleteVery nice mugs!
ReplyDeleteAnd a very cute mug it is. I'd want to keep it.
ReplyDeleteNice mugs, PROSIT !
ReplyDeleteI would buy them. And I do envy you the Christmas market experience. We really don't have anything equivalent here. The local mall just doesn't do it! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful mug! SKÅL!
ReplyDeleteI don't need to buy. Just the walk in the market would be enough. The spirit lives!
ReplyDeleteI miss the markets ! And the Glühwein! I used to live around the corner of the Schloss Charlottenburg, the park is nice during the summer months! Have fun !
ReplyDeleteSo much better than a paper cup!
ReplyDeleteWhat I have seen and heard about Christmas Markets makes me want to go to one. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteMakes you feel warm.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a wonderful souvenir.
ReplyDeleteMy SIGNS, SIGNS
I think it makes a fun souvenir!
ReplyDeleteAwww, I am jealous. We did a Christmas market tour a couple of years ago and came back with some mugs, but two of them got broken. I guess I have to go back . . .
