I don't know why I am so fascinated with subways. When I travel to a city that has an underground system, I absolutely have to take at least one ride on it (and get some photos too!). I have been traveling through Alexanderplatz quite often these days for my German course. I must admit I love the blue-green color of the tiling in this particular station. I'm not sure my photo got the color exactly right, but I hope you'll agree it's a calming and pleasant color.
It's Wednesday and that means we're halfway to the weekend! It also means you can see more signs at Signs, Signs.
I like those tiles too!
ReplyDeleteIt looks very clean and I love the colour of the tiles! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI like it too:) Mainly because it is blue. (In Stavanger we don`t have an underground rail system. I think some of the stations in London are pretty and some I have seen in St. Petersburg too. Perhaps I have to take even more notice.... Well, in Dubai I noticed it was very new and very clean.)
ReplyDeleteThe underground can be very photogenic. But I prefer the S-Bahn!
ReplyDeleteReminds of the tiled subway stations in Toronto. I hope you are also going to photograph the trains.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the colors look very nice and fresh.
ReplyDeleteYou are so fortunate to have such a system. We have a few smelly buses which go nowhere! So, you have to drive something - a car, truck, motorcycle, bike, etc. And, unfortunately, Ocala is growing. I think everybody north of Jacksonville has come down here this winter! Yikes!
ReplyDeletei like that color combo too...reminds me of the sea...seems like this should be an underwater tunnel with that color tile!
ReplyDeleteIt has a real 'work of art' look to it!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice. I wish the TTC would do more with some of our stations.
ReplyDeleteI once spent a very cold afternoon riding the subway in NYC and wanted to get off to photograph many of the stations. But it was a Sunday and trains don't run that often... So, I share this fascination.
ReplyDeleteI do like the blue/green color - rather calming.

The tiles look fresh and clean and the sign has a crisp feeling to it. Maybe the Germans take better care of these facilities than we do.
ReplyDeleteThe colour of the tiles reminds me of fresh, clean water. Lovely contrast with the darkness of the tunnel.
ReplyDeleteSubways are a great way to get around cities. Love the color and feel of this station and it's sign.
